Spanish football teams Barcelona and Real Madrid are fighting for the services of Spain’s rising youth Nicholas Milamad during the upcoming summer transfer window, Spanish press reports said Sunday.

Spanish newspaper (Mundo Deportivo) revealed that Milamad, 18, entered the interests of Barcelona and Real officials, after his first participation with the first team of Espanyol during his meeting against Lucerne in the European Championship last August.

Melamed participated for 34 minutes against Lucerne, but he did not have the opportunity to participate with Espanyol in the Spanish League championship this season, to suffice with the youth team in the club, who played with him 26 games and scored 7 goals.

The Catalan newspaper, quoting the British newspaper, The Sun, said that Melamed has entered the Chelsea team’s interests as well.

The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” indicated that Melamed possessed a penalty clause in his contract with Espanyol worth eight million euros, adding that the severe situation that was experienced by Espanyol before the suspension of the Spanish league matches due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, may make it difficult for the Catalan team’s task to retain the player.
